Giambattista Moroni e il Mistero del Ritratto Perfetto (Giambattista Moroni and the Mystery of the Perfect Portrait) is a captivating short novel that delves into art, unexpected encounters, and the celebration of individuality.

The story, words, illustrations, and design for this children’s book, published by Skira and Gallerie d’Italia, were beautifully crafted by the talented Giulia Zoavo. In early 2024, I had the pleasure of collaborating with Giulia. She approached me to bring her incredible characters to life through short Animated Videos and reels, designed to promote the exhibition held at Gallerie d’Italia in Milan. These animations were featured on the gallery’s social media platforms to engage and attract visitors to the exhibition.

Above is a compilation video that showcases the four animated shorts I created for this project. The entire project was executed in After Effects, with character animation enhanced using the Rubberhose plugin. Working with Giulia’s distinctive style was a joy, and I look forward to the possibility of collaborating with her again in the future!
